Browned Butter Potter's Porridge

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Steel Cut oats
- 2 cups Water
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- Heavy Cream, to top
- Maple Syrup, to top
- 2 tablespoons Hemp Hearts, to top
- 2 tablespoons toasted Pecans, to top
Directions
- Place the water, milk, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Stir the oats into the simmering liquid and stir occasionally until thick and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
- While the oats are cooking, brown the butter by melting it in a sauté pan. Continue cooking it over medium heat until the butter solids turn a golden brown color and smell nutty. Remove from heat.
- Divide the oats between two bowls.
