Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Production Pottery
  • Customer Interactions
  • Wheel Workshops

Production Pottery: 

  • Throw, hand build and finish the assigned pottery pieces in a timely manner at our standing wheels
  • Maintain the finesse of each piece while striving to throw more efficiently to maximize quantity and quality of production run
  • Train alongside the master potters and with the Lead Studio Trainer to achieve consistency across the product line
  • Maintain a clean and safe studio environment by adhering to our cleaning procedures and schedules
  • Once trained, load and unload kilns on a regular or rotating basis
  • Studio potters are a part of the overall production process and team - as part of the production team, there may be a need to help within different areas of the department: glazing, waxing, etc.
  • Any other duties as required

Customer Interactions: 

  • Embracing the open studio and responding to customer questions and comments appropriately and with enthusiasm
  • Educating the customer about the Farmhouse Pottery brand and production technique
  • Maintaining tidy work space during open studio hours to improve customer experience  

Wheel Workshops: 

These are personal workshops with our potters where we teach participants how to throw pottery and guide an interactive experience. Guests get the chance to create their very own artisan souvenir which we finish and ship to them. Workshops are available twice a day and are assigned to our master potters on a rotating basis.

  • Upon completion of proper training, teach wheel workshops as scheduled to the FHP standard
  • Set up and break down of wheel workshop equipment and supplies
  • Fill out wheel workshop paperwork properly and write thank you card
  • Trim and finish workshop pieces and get them in queue for the kilns

Requirements: 

  • Prior throwing experience; candidates will show their wheel skills in an interview
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to work 40+ hours a week, possibly including weekends

Physical Requirements: 

  • Frequently carry, raise or lower objects up to 40 pounds from one level to another regularly
  • Remain on feet in upright position for continuous periods of time
  • Walk throughout building, including up and down stairs and outside
  • Exerting force up to 40 pounds on a regular basis so object is moved towards or away from team member
  • Good hand-eye coordination and hand strength
  • Regularly reaching for, grasping and/or picking up objects
  • Bending forward by bending at waist or bending legs and spine

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee national and boutique wholesale accounts
  • Manage dropship accounts
  • Expand our existing trade program

Oversee National and Boutique Wholesale Accounts: 

  • Build strong client relationships to maintain current business and to open new accounts
  • Introduce new products thoughtfully with a goal of incentivizing the account to sell
  • Develop an attractive pricing structure to incentivize higher sales volumes
  • Schedule virtual and onsite meetings to grow existing accounts and open new ones
  • Monitor and assess performance of existing boutique accounts to thoughtfully manage sales channel growth

Manage Dropship Accounts: 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing dropship partners
  • Analyze existing account assortments and make recommendations to buying team to increase volume 
  • Review and improve pricing structures with existing accounts to optimize margin and ensure consistency
  • Research and present opportunities for new dropship accounts

Expand our Existing Trade Program: 

  • Evolve our current trade program with designers and their firms to grow this program’s sales volume 
  • Research and approach potential new trade partners
  • Work with marketing team to publicize the program and create new opportunities for sales

Reporting: 

  • Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on account performance for wholesale, dropship, and trade programs

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, specific experience in the home goods industry preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport across a variety of clients
  • Strong ability to problem solve to help resolve any customer issues that may arise
  • Time management skills in order to handle multiple tasks and clients at once
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing, sales or related field 
  • Willingness to travel for account maintenance

Oversee store operations:

  • Open and closing duties
  • Greet each customer and provide information on the products
  • Cleaning and maintaining retail store merchandise
  • Reconcile retail cash drawers at beginning and end of day

Customer Service: 

  • Greet each customer in the store and provide information on the products
  • Grow audience – capture email/address/social media

Maintain Stock Levels: 

  • Be sure the store is stocked with all products on the floor throughout the day
  • Ensure collateral, bags etc. are stocked regularly
  • Communicate any low inventory items to management

Maintain Store Cleanliness: 

  • Tidy the store regularly throughout the day
  • Sweep the store daily at close, mop when necessary
  • Follow the cleaning schedule to ensure the store remains pristine for the customer experience

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to stand on your feet for a minimum of 8 hours
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude required
  • Weekend availability

Type: Full or Part Time Positions Available

This position primarily supports Farmhouse Pottery’s ecommerce sales channel by providing the organization and management of digital assets and marketing support. Additionally, this role contributes to other sales channels through administrative support and limited marketing support. Gain experience in the field and grow with an up and coming lifestyle brand!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Photo asset management and organization, including image resizing
  • Product page building in Shopify, for both direct and wholesale site
  • Execute provided ecommerce strategy (i.e. home page refreshes, collection tagging and building, keeping online assortment refreshed etc.)
  • Social media engagement

Requirements:

  • Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator experience required
  • Shopify Plus, Google Suite
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal, with the ability to mimic tone and brand voice
  • Experience managing a business social media account and engaging with audience
  • Ability to stay organized and and manage priorities to meet deadlines
  • Strong interest in marketing, design, and content creation, lending to growth potential within Farmhouse Pottery
