Stollen-Infused Rum

Home for the Holidays. Just the aroma of this infusion sings of home, family, love, and that warm fuzzy feeling. Replete with fruit, spice, and the sweet nuttiness of marzipan, this is perfectly delightful to sip straight up or on the rocks. Make it as a gift for loved ones, or just keep a few bottles for warming hearthside drinks after a long winter’s walk.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz aged rum
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp candied orange peel
  • 1 tbsp marzipan, cut into small cubes
  • 2 tbsp flaked almonds, toasted
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cardamom pods, cracked
  • 1 blade mace

Directions

Add all ingredients to a Mason jar and set aside for 5 days to infuse, any longer and your marzipan will break down.

Pop the jar in the freezer for 2-3 hours to solidify any marzipan that may have dissolved, the rum will not freeze due to the high alcohol content.

Double strain through a fine muslin into bottles and use in all your festive cocktails. This also tastes delicious in warm milk with a hint of maple syrup and a slice of stollen
