I’m the kind of gal who loves simple, well made, truly crafted items that look good hanging on a peg rail and enrich my daily life with their utilitarian function. Enter the Huntsmen: a well-named, well-designed, and functional fly swatter you never knew you needed. We live on a farm where a good fly swatter is much appreciated. There is nothing like the loud thwack of the leather announcing another successful extermination. Well, after a couple years of use, our beloved Huntsmen met his match (a wasp, on the back door) and was laid to rest in our kitchen garbage can. After a panicked email to customer service, the good folks at Farmhouse Pottery quickly and easily restored to my family a new Huntsmen. If my eldest son plays his cards right, he just might inherit this farmhouse necessity ;) get yourself one!
Most of the time, this swattah hangs from an iron wall rack in the mudroom of our mountain cabin. Attractive aesthetic - and even somewhat functional, but not so sturdy. Have used perhaps a handful of times to delicately stun a moth or mosquito without leaving a mark on painted drywall. Today, I swatted an amorous couple of carpenter bees on the patio and the head sheared off; the tiny bits of wood around the screws splintering upon impact. And I’m an arthritic old lady, so fairly certain it wasn’t due to my brute strength :/
We agree this should not have happened, please reach out to our customer service team at care@farmhousepottery.com and we'll be happy to make this right for you!
