My husband purchased these for me and the first set was very rough and the ladle cracked in the middle after the first use. We contacted the company and they did send us a new set. The second set was also rough, but I didn’t worry about it. I have had them for a while now and they are just ok until last week the ladle broke again. The section where the wood is bonded together broke off. For the cost of this set it should be better and last for a long time.
Ordered the Walnut set, but received a mix of Beech and Walnut utensils. Complete lack of quality control prior to shipment for something that is so premium. I wish I could add a picture to this review.
Description states "crafted in China"...not sure what that technically means
I purchased this set and it was peeling and chipping after one use.
I bought these beautiful looking utensils so I could throw out my old plastic utensils. Unfortunately I find myself reaching for the plastic ones often because they just perform better.
--Each wooden utensil arrived with a rough texture. Why should I have to sandpaper a $125 utensil set??
-- I used the laddle twice. The top of the laddle is a separate piece of wood that was glued/attached to the bottom and it came unattached from the bottom section of the laddle. I used it in hot water, but it wasn't submerged more than for 20 seconds at a time just stirring. Poor construction.
--The spatulas are ok - they work but it's difficult to slide them under eggs, grilled cheese, pancakes, etc. The wood is too thick to get under the food.
So is this set worth it? Eh. It you want pretty pieces for your counter then yes. If you want items that can function well in your kitchen maybe think again.
