Vegan Orange Pumpkin Spice Latte

Bring a burst of citrusy brightness to the classic autumn favorite. This Orange Pumpkin Spice Latte combines smooth espresso, creamy pumpkin, warming spices, and a hint of zesty orange. Easily make it vegan by swapping in your favorite plant-based milk for a cozy, feel-good treat.

Ingredients

For the Spiced Syrup

  • 1 orange, juiced, and a strip of zest
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Demerara sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 cloves
  • grated nutmeg

For one drink

  • 1 shot fresh espresso
  • 1 tablespoon spiced syrup from above
  • 1 1/4 cups oat milk (or any plant-based milk)

Directions

Begin with the syrup. Add all ingredients to a pan and dissolve the sugar over a low heat. Once dissolved, bring to the boil, and boil 3-5 minutes or until syrupy. Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.

Once cool, strain into a bottle, discard the solids and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

When ready, add the oat milk and syrup to a small pan and bring to steaming point whilst whisky to aerate the milk.

Pour the espresso into a mug, top with the warm milk and serve.
